This was a beautiful, insightful piece of writing. I struggle with O'Connor's fiction - the darkness can be so overwhelming, the grace only won at so high a price... But this is just true isn't it? So thought provoking.
I agree, one must be in a particular mood for O’Connor 😂 she’s also so hard to recommend because although her name is familiar among Catholics no one ever seems really *prepared* for what her stories are like. This piece gave me a lot to think about as well!
